University of Plymouth Choral Society

What is the University of Plymouth Choral Society?

The University of Plymouth Choral Society (UPCS) is one of the largest community choirs in Plymouth. It has a long affiliation with Plymouth University through support from Peninsular Arts, rehearsing on Plymouth University campus in the Sherwell Centre, and through providing support in the University’s carol concert.

Who sings in the choir?

Members are from the community in and around Plymouth, including students and staff from Plymouth University. Membership is free to students.

What do we do?

We give three performances per year of mainly Classical repertoire, accompanied by an orchestra and professional soloists. Each concert is performed in the Minster Church of St Andrew in the centre of Plymouth.

When do we rehearse?

We rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Sherwell Centre from September to May.
